Celebrating Five Years of Gig on Earth Day
In 2022, along with celebrating Earth Day, we celebrated our 5th year of being your mobility partner. Here's a look at all we've accomplished together.

2021
Giving Tuesday 2021 - Ruby Bridges Foundation
A warm thank you to all of our Members that helped us reach our Giving Tuesday goal. Gig donated $1 per trip to the Ruby Bridges Foundation from 11/30 to 12/6. Your trips helped fund the nationwide movement to promote safe, inclusive schools and communities for all. Thank you! GIG Car Share donates Gig trips to Covid-19 vaccine appointments
Gig is donating trips to vaccine sites to Clausen House as an extension of its Gig4Good program, which provides qualified organizations with Gig rentals at no cost. Gig4Good made 130,000 driving hours available to community partners in the Bay Area since launching last year. Clausen House provides housing, wellness programs, and advocacy for adults in Oakland and the surrounding East Bay area challenged by autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other intellectually and developmentally disabling conditions. “Clausen House is pleased to partner with GIG Car Share to help people get to vaccination appointments”, says Jaynette M. Underhill, Executive Director of Clausen House. “The Gig driving credits will help both our clients and staff drive to those important medical appointments. Thanks GIG Car Share from all of us at Clausen House.”

Donating Over 130,000 Driving Hours.
We appreciate our community and the organizations that make it a better place. During this trying year, we wanted to make sure that we found a way to support them.
For Community Partners: Free Weekly Rentals.
We're donating Gig trips to community-focused orgs that create positive change in the diverse communities we serve through our program, Gig4Good.* The orgs’ focus range from delivering food to those in need to supporting racial equality.Â
These organizations will receive dedicated cars for a week at a time. As an extra precaution, each car will be deep-cleaned before and after each organization uses it.

We’re proud to announce that one of our partners is the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Their employees are using dedicated Gigs to support mission-critical efforts such as delivering food.Â
“The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is experiencing a dramatic increase in demand due to the COVID-19 health and financial crisis… the use of these vehicles over the next month from GIG Car Share, could not come at a better time. The use of these valuable assets will enable our program staff and volunteers to safely and efficiently get to the many food distribution sites that we are supporting through this pandemic and is an immediate and valuable resource.”
