San Francisco Parking? Not a Problem With Gig!

Gig out there and explore SF’s most popular neighborhoods.

Heading to San Francisco? Get there with Gig. Our car share service covers fuel, insurance and parking within a HomeZone. That’s right: Parking’s covered, even when you’re parking in one of 11 lots in our San Francisco HomeZone. So go ahead, Gig from Oakland Airport to SF and check out Pier 39, or Gig from UC Berkeley to the Marina and back again. You can leave your Gig vehicle without hassle in any approved parking space in the HomeZone

What’s a HomeZone?
A HomeZone is where Gigs begin and end trips. All Bay Area trips must end in a Bay Area HomeZone. To find a HomeZone, look for the blue shaded area in the Gig app. Some HomeZones include street parking; in more congested areas, a garage or parking lot might be the nearest HomeZone.

Things to Do Near Parking Lots in San Francisco

Each of these lots has parking for Gig vehicles. Lots may have different policies, so check the app for details.

Financial District
Parking Lot: 768 Sansome St.

With 24-hour access, this lot is convenient to not only downtown office buildings, but also things to do around North Beach and Chinatown. You can walk four blocks to visit City Lights Bookstore, the book shop that famously supported Beat Generation authors like Allen Ginsberg Jack Kerouac and continue along Columbus Avenue to check out one of the European-style cafes. Dine alfresco to enjoy people-watching, or grab a bite to go and picnic in Washington Square Park.

Fisherman’s Wharf

Finish up your visit with a hot fudge sundae at The Original Ghiradelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop in Ghiradelli Square, at the far end of Fisherman’s Wharf.

Don’t miss: A selfie in front of one of Umbrella Alley’s Instagram-friendly murals.
More things to do in Fisherman’s Wharf: Step back in time at Musée Mécanique, a hands-on museum featuring vintage penny arcade games.

Portola
Parking Lot: 975 Bayshore Blvd.

Thousands of vehicles may drive by on the 101 Freeway each day, but the Portola district is still one of San Francisco’s lesser-known neighborhoods. With a suburban feel, sunnier weather, and impressive views of San Francisco, the area’s main drag is San Bruno Avenue. From the lot, It’s a quick walk under the freeway to get there.

Don’t miss: Alemany Farmers’ Market, “the People’s Market.” Open Saturdays and Sundays, it’s the oldest in California,
More things to do in the Portola district: The Portola does breakfast right. Grab a dozen donuts from Jim Georgie’s, dig into a classic breakfast at Breakfast at Tiffany’s, or get your caffeine fix at Hey Neighbor Cafe. Check out the adjacent pocket park while you’re sipping your latte.

Bayside
Parking Lot: 1 Bryant St.
