2 Million EV Miles Driven

Last week, our Sacramento Members reached a significant milestone: Two million electric miles driven!

We just want to say “thanks” to all our Sacramento Members for hopping into our Electric Gigs and driving change in the Sacramento region. When we launched in April of 2019, we hoped folks would take to the streets and drive change – but we didn’t think two million miles would happen so soon. 

Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg had some encouraging things to say about this exciting achievement. 

“Hitting the two-million-mile mark with the Gig all-electric fleet is both a proof point and an inspiration. This milestone proves if you make electric vehicles accessible and fun, drivers will embrace the technology,” Steinberg said in a statement. “And, it’s an inspiration for our efforts here in Sacramento to continue to expand charging availability and the number of EVs on the road. Doing so will significantly reduce carbon emissions and contribute to a healthier future for all.”

Sacramento Members are using Electric Gigs for all sorts of trips, and it’s really changing the way they move. 

“Gig has been such a lifesaver lately. I use it to get to work, grocery shopping, and to see my niece for social-distance visits,” said Marley Orion Silverband, a Member in Sacramento. “Thank you for everything that you have brought to Sacramento, and recently West Sacramento.”
